Tragedy Strikes as 9-Year-Old Girl Found Dead in Amritsar Village
In a heartbreaking turn of events, the lifeless body of a 9-year-old girl who had gone missing on Tuesday was discovered in an abandoned building at Mudhal village in the Verka police station area of Amritsar commissionerate on Thursday. The police have stated that the body exhibited signs of injury, indicating that she may have been murdered before being callously discarded in the building.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sukhpal Singh has disclosed that they are diligently working to uncover the circumstances surrounding this devastating loss. As the investigation progresses, the police are striving to determine the motive behind this heinous crime.
The girl's father lodged a complaint with the Verka police station on Wednesday, reporting the kidnapping of his daughter. According to his statement, upon his wife's return from work on Tuesday, they discovered that their beloved child was missing.
Efforts to locate the missing girl were initiated promptly, with authorities scrutinizing CCTV footage of the vicinity. Regrettably, no substantial leads emerged from the footage. The deployment of a drone to scour the area also yielded no results. However, on Thursday, the child's lifeless body was tragically found in an abandoned building.
As part of their ongoing investigation, the police have apprehended several family members for questioning, suspecting their potential involvement in this dreadful incident.
In light of the gravity of the situation, the police have included Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the First Information Report (FIR), acknowledging the severity of the crime committed.
